The Strategic Knowledge Cluster "Canada-Europe Transatlantic Dialogue" and the School of Public Policy & Governance invites you to attend:
“Who Decides? Democracy, Power and the Municipal Franchise in Cities of Immigration”
The principal aim of the conference is to improve the quality of debate over non-citizen voting rights in Toronto by considering the experiences of other jurisdictions and weighing the merits of the municipal franchise conceptually.
The event will take place at the School of Public Policy & Governance at the University of Toronto on April 23rd, 2010 from 9 am-4 pm. All SPPG faculty, administration, students and alumni are welcome. Open registration will begin at 8:30 am.
Speakers include Ron Hayduk, David Earnest, Leslie Seidle, Myer Siemiatycki, Marcus Gee, Alan Broadbent, Desmond Cole, Peter-John Sidebottom and moderators Melissa Williams and Pamela Bryant.
