Certificate in Dialogue and Civic Engagement: Accepting applications for Fall 2010 - Deadline Extended

Are you a change-maker who seeks innovative ways to think about and catalyze civic engagement? Ready to leverage and expand your skills to become a more effective communicator?

If so, we invite you to apply for the Certificate in Dialogue and Civic Engagement. Come join a network of learners who are willing to test new ideas and develop new methods for inspiring collective action. You will collaborate with other learners in non-governmental organizations, business, community-based organizations, labour unions, Crown corporations, health agencies, First Nations and all levels of government.

This program is guided by highly-skilled instructors who are both academically and practically trained. You will finish the program by designing and evaluating your own civic engagement project with rigorous faculty mentorship. The Certificate in Dialogue and Civic Engagement is an ideal program for anyone interested in strategically addressing issues of public concern.

Diploma in Dialogue and Negotiation: Designing and implementing collaborative decision-making processes.

Two courses coming this fall:

September 13-14, 2010: Experiences in Dialogue and Negotiation

Instructed by professional mediator Tony Penikett and professional negotiator George Heyman, this course will offer tools and strategies for quality process design. You will learn the art of relationship building, analyze successful and unsuccessful negotiation processes and practice dialogue and negotiation with real-life examples.

September 15-16, 2010: Evaluating and Sustaining Agreements

Instructed by engagement and management consultant Jacquie Dale, this course will enable you to design and integrate more effective evaluation frameworks into your work. You will also review the typology of evaluation and examine strategies for integrating feedback into your organizational culture.
