INVITING DIALOGUE TRAINING SERIES
Nov. 22-27, 2010: Simon Fraser University, Burnaby BC.

Victim Offender Dialogue brings together those affected by criminal offenses in an effort to repair harm done, foster direct accountability, and heal broken relationships. Drawing on CJI's 25 years experience convening victim offender dialogue at all levels of justice, this hands-on professional development course will guide participants through the mindset, values and skills of facilitating these processes with diverse participants. This course will be taught in three consecutive segments. Depending on previous training or experience, participants may choose to enrol in the full course or the segments most relevant to them. Completion certificates will be presented at the conclusion of each session.

THE HEART OF RESTORATIVE JUSTICE: Harm, Healing & Accompaniment
8:30am – 4:00pm, Nov. 22-23, 2010
$290* for 2 days of training

Build foundational skills for responding to interpersonal harm as a caring and impartial third party. Through presentation, self-reflection, discussion and practice, learn to provide safe and reflective ‘accompaniment’ to the human experience of harm and healing.

INVITING DIALOGUE: Facilitating Victim Offender Encounters
8:30am – 4:00pm, November 24-26, 2010
$490* for 3 days of training

Learn to safely and effectively guide those involved and impacted by minor and mid-range offences through a dialogue aimed at accountability, repair and healing. Learn CJI’s celebrated and time-tested model of Victim Offender Dialogue with the individualized support of expert professional coaches.

CLEARING THE LENS: Integrating Neuroscience & Restorative Justice
8:30am – 4:00pm, November 27, 2010
$170* for 1 day training

Understand cutting edge brain research as it relates to restorative justice practice. Explore effective practice and the dynamics of crisis, responsibility-taking, defensiveness and facilitator bias through a focus on the anatomy and physiology of the human brain.
